New Play Series
We believe great theater starts with community. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for local artists, storytellers, and audiences to connect, collaborate, and bring new ideas to life.
By partnering with local professional playwrights, we help bring fresh ideas from the page to the stage through staged readings and productions, creating meaningful opportunities for artists to test, refine, and showcase their work.
The New Play Series aims to strengthen our local creative community and ensures that fresh, diverse voices continue to be heard on our stage.

BabyCakes - A New Play by Leila Teitelman
Grieving parents attempt to face bereavement by attending local support meetings. Helen, a new addition to the group and a recent transplant, creates tension and raises suspicion within the well-established cohort when she refuses to open up about her past. The group must ultimately contend with their own feelings of discomfort while unearthing collective biases and deciding who is most deserving of their support. BabyCakes is an exploration of loss, birth, the hypocrisies of parenthood, and the death of loved ones.

30 Under 60
6 actors. 30 plays. 60 minutes. The only prompt given to the ensemble was simple: write a 2 minute play. And write from a place of emotional truth. Simple, but far from easy. The result? Thirty distinct pieces of pure heart on the stage.
We ask the audience to not only watch, but to participate. You decide the order of the plays. Every performance will be unique and because of the choices made in this room. The fourth wall is a little thinner here. The machinery is visible. The audience and performers are sharing the same space, the same air, the same fleeting moment in time. We get to be human together.
